Example: An invented EUR/USD move from 1.1000 to 1.1001 is one pip under the stated convention.
Keep in mind: A pip measures a price distance, not a fixed amount of money.
The money amount associated with a one-pip move for a stated position size. It must be expressed in a named currency.

The exposure held after transactions, represented according to the account’s rules. It has a direction and quantity.
Example: A filled demo purchase leaves an open position until a later transaction reduces or closes that exposure.
Keep in mind: An order is an instruction; a position is the resulting exposure, not necessarily every visible ticket.
The quantity of an instrument involved in a position. In a currency-unit example, name the base-currency units and distinguish them from margin and possible loss.
Example: A demo position of 1,000 EUR units is a different quantity from 10,000 EUR units, even if the pair is the same.
Keep in mind: Position size, lot units, margin and the amount you could lose are different measurements.
Choosing the quantity of a position under explicit price-distance, cash-budget, cost and instrument assumptions.
Example: With a hypothetical 5-unit budget and 0.01-unit loss per currency unit, the ideal quantity is 500 units before other costs and size restrictions.
