Electronic communication network: a system for electronic matching among participants. A provider’s use of this label needs to be checked against the actual arrangement.
Example: A matching system can bring compatible buying and selling instructions together.
Keep in mind: An ECN marketing claim does not necessarily give a retail customer direct access to a complete bank order book.

Keep in mind: This differs from a provider’s maximum advertised leverage; name the aggregation and conversion assumptions.
A publication containing specified measures of work and labour-market activity, often from several surveys with different populations and units.
Example: One series can count covered jobs while another classifies people as employed, unemployed or outside the labour force.
Keep in mind: A job count is not always a count of different people, and no single headline describes every part of the labour market.
An account-value figure commonly combining balance with current open-position results and applicable adjustments. The provider’s calculation should be checked.
Example: With a 100-unit balance, a 5-unit floating loss and no other adjustments, example equity is 95.
Keep in mind: A floating gain can disappear before the position closes.
Observations reserved to assess a specified method rather than choose its rules, with boundaries and permitted use stated in advance.
Example: A learner develops a rule on earlier dates and reserves later, unviewed dates for a separate assessment.
Keep in mind: Repeatedly changing the rule because of the same reserved results makes those observations part of development.
The price of one currency expressed in another. A made-up rate of 1 USD = 150 JPY means one US dollar is worth 150 Japanese yen at that example rate. It is an illustration, not today's market price.
Example: At an invented 1 USD = 150 JPY, 2 USD corresponds to 300 JPY before charges.
Keep in mind: Illustrative arithmetic is not a live provider quote.
A documented comparison between stated transaction references and the instructions, statuses, quantities, prices and costs actually recorded.
Example: A learner compares the planned quote side with the demo fill receipt and retains both favourable and adverse differences.
Keep in mind: A chart screenshot without order status and actual fills is not a complete execution record.
A market label often used for a pair involving a less widely traded currency. Providers and teaching sources may classify pairs differently.
Example: A provider may label USD/TRY an exotic pair.
Keep in mind: The label alone does not tell you the actual spread, liquidity or product risk.
A rolling average updated with greater weight on recent observations under a chosen smoothing rule.
Example: With example prior EMA 10, new price 13 and weight one third, the updated EMA is 11.
Keep in mind: Record the smoothing and initialisation; an EMA still uses observed data rather than future prices.
